“Family Law” – such a nice sound for a most difficult time.

I will smooth the legal process for you as you transition through this high stress period of your life. In our first consultation I will explain both the legal court process and the law as it applies to your unique circumstances.

The areas most common to Family Law include:

  • Divorce
  • Child Visitation Child Support
  • Spousal Support (alimony)
  • Modification of Judgment
  • Restraining Orders
  • Pre-nuptial Agreement
  • Child Custody
  • Child Support
  • Division of Property
  • Contempt of Court Order
  • Temporary Protective Orders
  • Post-nuptial Agreement

The law is fairly well settled in all these areas and there is little need to make the legal process any more stressful than necessary. There are law offices which seem to pride themselves on how many documents they can file, how many court hearings they can cause and how much of a tooth-and-nail fight they can make out of these issues – mine is not one of those firms.

You will be kept up to date on all that occurs regarding your situation: copies of all letters, copies of all documents sent, received and filed. All phone calls and emails are answered. I promise to advocate for your rights and not allow you to be bullied in any manner.

Georgia is a “no-fault” divorce state; meaning you do not have to “prove” your spouse is a horrible person and committed bad acts in order to terminate your marriage through divorce. Child custody is normally with the primary care giver and the other spouse pays child support based on an established formula.

I’ll cover the details and answer all your questions during your first consultation here at my office. Call 478-353-1800 for an appointment.
